Yesterday, the Legislative Reapportionment Commission (LRC) announced that next Monday (4/26) and Tuesday (4/27), they will stream public interviews for candidates who could serve as the 5th member and chair of the LRC to draw Pennsylvania’s state house and senate voting districts. You can stream the interviews live starting at 1 p.m. next Monday and 9 a.m. next Tuesday. If you can't watch live, you can watch later on the PA Redistricting website.
Over 60 Pennsylvanians applied for this position, five times the amount that applied in 2011. We are grateful to those of you in the Draw the Lines community who threw your hat into the ring. It clearly demonstrates that people are already engaged in the process and are insisting they have a voice when the maps are drawn later this year.
Draw the Lines' own David Thornburgh, the President and CEO of our parent organization, the Committee of Seventy, will be among those interviewed.
