Logan Ford of Mercyhurst University in Erie

When Logan Ford awoke on Sept. 24 in a hotel outside Harrisburg, he knew it was going to be a good day. But he didn't know how good it would turn out to be.

Follow Draw the Lines honoree Logan Ford through a memorable day at the State Capitol.

Ford, a senior at Mercyhurt University in Harrisburg, knew he had won regional honors for the second time in a row in the Draw the Lines PA mapping competition.  He knew he had a pretty good shot at statewide recognition during the ceremony at the State Capitol

By the time, the day was over, he'd been awarded $5,500 as the West Region and state champion college mapper. And he'd found out he had a slim lead in online balloting for a People's Choice Award of $1,500.  He was awarded that prize three days later when the tallying was done.

Videographer Noah Dickinson was with Ford for his entire big day, which included a meeting with the chief justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Thomas Saylor.

Watch the video and see how the Draw the Lines experience can inspire and engage young people.
